Generator Notes
Team Documentation IGVC
Ketterng University - BullDog?
"With the use of the generator BullDog? I is able to run up to 10 hours without stopping. This is achieved by running the generator at 54% of the rated output, which is near the generators highest efficiency. Furthermore, we have reduced down time in comparison to an all-electric vehicle; all that needs to be done is to refill the generator." Taken From Kettering's Bulldog - IGVC They were using 492 watts on average, using the Yamaha EF1000ISC (puts out ~900Watts)
Alberta University - BearCat?
" The robot is powered by a hybrid power supply consisting of a Honda, super quite motor generator EU-2000i." " The robot’s power system has been decided as being a generator set and 2 Honda EU-2000i, super quite sets, as shown in Figure 5 have been chosen for this purpose. The advantage of having a generator set in place of batteries is that the power supply is not interrupted for a longer time and refueling the generator set is much quicker than recharging the batteries. The generator set is also much lighter than the batteries for an equivalent power. " taken from Alberta - BearCat ~ $778
