FIRST, 2008

Task:
RAS 2nd year mentoring team 2158. Robot goes around a track, picking up 40" diameter balls, throwing them over a 6.5' overpass. Team won Gracious Professionalism award at Lone Star Regional.

Specifications:
Microcontroller - PIC18F8722 - IFI Robot Controller
Main Sensors - Grayhill Encoders 61R
Additional Sensors - Sonars and Gyro
Software - C code using MPLAB
Drive - 4 CIM motors, 4 three speed Dewalt gearboxes with on-the-fly shifting, 6 wheel drive, tank steer.
Forklift - raises an 8 lb ball 7.5 feet in the air, and controls when it is released
