The FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) competition is a nationwide high school robotics competition. Dean Kamen, the inventor of the Segway, started FIRST to get students of all ages interested in science and technology. The competition changes from year to year, with robots going head to head at playing a game of some kind.
